Two To Be Questioned Over Attempted Murder Near Billericay

Police will question two men today over an attack near Billericay that has left a man fighting for his life.

Officers were called to Sudburys Farm Road at around 9.20am yesterday to reports a man had been injured.

Essex Police said: "Officers attended along with paramedics and the air ambulance and a man aged in his 40s was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital.

"His condition is described as life threatening.

"Subsequently a 59-year-old man from the Billericay area and a 53-year-old man from Basildon were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in custody.

"A forensic examination of the scene is being conducted and enquiries continue to establish how the man came to be injured.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives at Basildon CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
