John Stamos Avoids Jail Time After DUI Charge

UPDATE: E! News has learned that John Stamos plead no contest to one misdemeanor account of driving under the influence of a drug Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles courthouse. As a result, the Grandfathered actor won't face jail time or have to complete any community service, but he is now under three years of probation.

He was ordered to enter into a three month alcohol abuse program for first time DUI offenders, ordered to go into a two-hour drug and alcohol counselling session from a private doctor and will also have to attend 52 AA meetings that will utilize a 12-step program

Nearly three months after he checked out of rehab, the actor has been charged in his DUI case. 

The Los Angeles District Attorney tells E! News that the 52-year-old actor has been charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs, stemming from his June arrest for DUI in Beverly Hills

If convicted, the Fuller House star faces a maximum sentence of six months in county jail. An arraignment is schedule for tomorrow in Los Angeles.

Police pulled over Stamos on June 12 after receiving "numerous calls" about a possible drunk driver, a media release obtained by E! News said at the time. The actor, who was driving alone, was then transported to the nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for observation "due to a possible medical condition."
